Lossy image compression involves a quality-versus-size tradeoff: the higher the image quality, the greater the compressed data size.
In QuickTime 4, the JPEG, PICT and QuickTime Image graphics exporters support the CompressionQuality setting. The PICT and QuickTime Image graphics exporters pass it on as a parameter to a compressor.
